FRC Merging Research for Control Systems

This report assesses research conducted between 2005 and 2015 by Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Air Force Research Laboratory, and the University of Washington regarding Field-Reversed Configuration (FRC) plasma merging. The study concludes that experimental two-body collisions and the evolution of hybrid-kinetic computational models provided the essential physics required to develop the Trivergence Protocol, a sophisticated control system for managing chaotic three-body plasma interactions.
