This key appointment emphasizes the company’s focus on scaling global growth and accessing additional international market sectors. Gold was awarded NASA’s Outstanding Leadership Medal in recognition for his achievements while at NASA including the Artemis Accords, the Gateway MOUs, and regulatory reforms. Before joining NASA, Gold was Vice President of Civil Space at Maxar Technologies, General Counsel for the company’s legacy Radiant Solutions business unit, and Vice President of Washington Operations and Business Development. Gold also spent 13 years at Bigelow Aerospace where he established the company’s Washington office, oversaw the launches of the Genesis 1 and 2 spacecraft, and was a recipient of a NASA Group Achievement award for the development and deployment of the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM) on the International Space Station. Additionally, Gold received the International Astronautical Federation’s 2024 Excellence in International Cooperation Award, a 2025 Aviation Week Laureate Award for the Artemis Accords, and a 2024 NASA Silver Group Achievement Award for his role on the agency’s UAP Independent Study Team. Gold has served as Chair of the Department of Transportation’s Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee, Chair of the NASA Advisory Committee’s Regulatory and Policy Committee, and was a member of the National Academies Space Technology Industry-Government-University Roundtable. Gold has authored numerous law review articles and editorials addressing commercial space issues. He has also testified on many occasions before the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate as an expert in commercial space as well as space law and policy.
