North Korea's laser research capabilities are limited and primarily oriented toward industrial and military applications such as laser range-finding, target designation, and potential laser communication systems. There is no evidence of high-energy laser weapons development comparable to the programs in the US, Israel, South Korea, or other nations with operational or developmental laser DEW systems.
